1. The idea of starting the fraternity originated during a Bible study at Appalachian State University in the Fall of 1986.
2. Members of this group founded the fraternity at East Carolina University in the Spring of 1987. The fraternity was incorporated in the Spring of 1987.
3. Founding Father:
- Kurt Yanchenko
- Wayne Parris
- Lee Morgan
4. There were sixteen brothers in the founding class at ECU.
5. Chris Christian left ECU and came to NC State University where he started Beta Chapter in the spring of 1988.
6. Gamma Chapter was started at UNC-Chapel Hill in the fall of 1994.
7. Delta Chapter was started in the spring of 2002 at Appalachian State University and began in the fall of that year.
8. Epsilon Chapter was started in Spring of 2005 at UNC-Greensboro.
9. In the Fall of 2005, the Zeta Chapter was started at Lander University in South Carolina. Zeta was XAO's first expansion outside the state of North Carolina.
10. The Eta Chapter was started in the Spring of 2006 at Campbell University.
